The key on this phone has gone

Your record is locked with a key that never leaves the phone that made it. That is why nobody can read it, and it is also why we cannot get it back for you. Starting again gives you a new key. The friends you shared the old entries with keep theirs.

What should your friends call you?

The only thing they ever see. If you do not check in, the message says “this name has not checked in” — so use whatever they actually call you.

Let the microphone work now

So that saying something is one tap when you need it, instead of a permission box at the worst possible moment. Nothing is recorded until you press record, and what you record is encrypted like everything else.

Who should we tell?

The last step, and the one that makes the rest of it work. Without somebody here, a missed check-in has nowhere to go. Send one person a link — they do not need an account, a password, or this app.

You have been asked

The only thing we ever need from you. No password, no account — it is just where the message goes if she does not check in.

If she does not check in when she said she would, you are one of the people we tell. You will be able to see what she logged before she went out — the car, the name, where she was going. Nobody else can, including us.

The only thing your friends ever see. If you do not check in, the message says “this name has not checked in”.

Your phone rings. You answer, you say the words anyone would say, and you leave. Nobody is really calling — it does not need signal and it costs nothing.

So a check-in reaches you when your phone is face down on a table, and so you hear it if somebody you look out for does not come back. Emails still go either way — this is on top of them, never instead.

Recently deleted

Deleting takes it off this phone straight away. It is destroyed seven days later, and until then you can put it back. Nothing — no code, no setting, nobody at YesSafe — can make that happen any sooner, so a record cannot be destroyed by somebody who picks up your phone. Your circle is told when a record is deleted.

These people can read your record at any time That is the point — if something goes wrong they start with the car and the name, not with nothing. Remove anyone and their key is destroyed.

Kept for six months, then deleted Not archived, not recoverable, by anyone including us. If you delete something yourself it goes from this phone at once and is destroyed seven days later — and nothing can make that happen sooner, so nobody who picks up your phone can wipe your record.
What we can see, and how the check-in works
What we can see, honestly We can see that an entry exists, when you made it, and when you said you would be back — the alarm has to work when you cannot work it. We cannot see a single word of what any of it says. Every entry shows its own deletion date.
Should we check with you first? If you give us an email, then when your time runs out we ask you before we tell anybody else — and only tell them if you do not answer. Leave it blank and your friends are told straight away. It is not a login and there is no password.
